New Art Hall at the Marabou-park

Sweden or Switzarland? Some people confuse Sweden for Switzarland, and thinks that Sweden is the chocolate and watch country. But as a matter of fact,  Swedish chocolate is pretty good, and one of the brands, Marabou, has a park and art gallery worth a visit. Especially this year with opening of a  new exhibition space and restaurant opening in late August.

Marabou Park was commissioned by Marabou's founder Henning Throne-Holst as a recreational park for the employees of his chocolate factory and contains an impressive sculpture collection. The park was ingeniously conceived and created on a hectare of once unpromising terrain by Sven Hermelin (1900-1984), a key figure in Swedish landscape architecture. And when the park opened in the 50s it became a well known destination for art-lovers. The park is situated in the suburb Sundbyberg.

The new art hall will be inaugurated on August 28 with the exhibition "Park life" wheere artists such as Dave Allen, Martin Boyce, nathan Coley, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Kohei Yoshiyuki and Kerstin Bergendal and more will exhibit.
