Hotel Stureplan opens 43 new rooms

The 43 new rooms at Hotel Stureplan will open on February 2:nd 2009. Hotel Stureplan opened in May 2008 with 58 rooms on Birger Jarlsgatan 24 at Stureplan square. The new hotel rooms plus a conference room  and a gourmet italian restaurant will be a great addition to the hotel.


SAS opens new routes to Stockholm

SAS opens two new summer routes to Stockholm. The route from Dubrovnik on wednesdays July 1-August 12 and from Antalya on tuesdays June 23-August 11.

The SAS flight from Malta will also return during this forth comming summer. SAS will also extend the number of fligthts from Malaga, Nice and Palma de Mallorca during the upcomming summer.


ABBA museum on world tour


The ABBA museum concept is sold to Touring Exhibitions. The planned ABBA museum will go on a world tour and is planned to return to Stockholm at a permanent location by Gröna Lund on Djurgården. A unique touring exhibition filled with music, original costumes, history, images, instruments and never-before-displayed memorabilia from the group's recording and performing heyday, ABBA the Museum is an interactive experience featuring the latest technology in sound, visuals, multimedia and communications.

ABBA the Museum is produced by Touring Exhibitions (TX) of Stockholm, backed by Parks & Resorts Scandinavia, the largest amusement park company in Sweden; Polar Music, the company behind ABBA's original success, part of Universal Music Group, the world's leading music company; Live Nation, the world's largest live music company; Synergera Rättighetsförvaltning and Eventum Exhibitions.

Swedish design for your child

The swedish company Brio produces classical wooden toys, strollers and children furniture. The past couple of year they have updated their profile and have gotten the best swedish designers to update their toys and furniture. Peter Andersson and  Matti Klenell designed "Sleep", Fredrik Matsson designed "Sit" and Pia Wallen designed "My First Reflection". Swim and see a movie



Water realted horror movies such as "Jaws" and family matinées such as "Finding Nemo" are showed at Aspuddsbadet indoor swimming pool during this winter. Aspuddsbadet is situated in the southern suburb Aspudden.

The best saffron bun

One of my christmas weaknesses is the typical swedish saffron bun (lussebulle/saffransbulle). The daily news City lists the best places in the city for a saffron bun. And I couldn't agree more with them "more is more". The place with the highest score is Saturnus wellknown in Stockholm for their gigantic pastries. Here is the top six list.

New hotel opens at Stockholm Arlanda Airport

A new large hotel will open at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport in 2010. The new eight story hight Clarion Hotel Arlanda will have 400 rooms and will be connected to Sky city.

Some of the best swedish and international architects and designers will show their creative solutions for private homes and public venues in this gigantic marketplace for consumers and producers. After the exhibition period everything will be sold on an auktion for Childhood Foundation.

Commutertrain to Arlanda Airport

The commutertrain route from Stockholm to Märsta will be extended to Stockholm Arlanda Airport in 2011. The public transport SL in Stockholm decided on this on Tuesday.

Innovative Stockholmers

The first European advertising festival, EuroBest, took place in Stockholm in December 2008. Cannes Lions organization, who stands behind the festival, hopes that the event will be permanent in the Swedish Capital. Read more about creativity in Stockholm and Sweden here.

Europes largest Skatepark opens 2010


Europe biggest skate park for all types of riders and riding styles is going to open in Stockholm 2010. The Highvalley Skatepark will be 7500 square meters and situated in Högdalen suburb in Stockholm. The architect behind it is Stefan Hauser.


New 2-star hotel in Stockholm

Stockholm will have a new 2-star hotel named Lilla Rådmannens Bakficka next to Hotel Lilla Rådmannen. The new hotel, centrally located on Rådmansgatan 69, will feature 26 rooms - all with a cosy atmosphere. Both hotels are family owned hotel will also offer conference facilities for up to 25 people.  The new hotel opens FEBRUARY 1, 2009.
