Flux Shop invents itself every month

FluxShop_smile-o-meter

The trendy crowd in Stockholm has a new favorite place: The Flux Shop on Tjärhovsgatan 14, Södermalm. Every month they present a new brand. They look for the things we wish were sold in our city, but isn’t. The aim of the company is to create Nordic clothing based on a conceptual approach to the process, where experiments with forms provide the setting for the visual motive in the design.

The danish avantgardist Barbara I Gongini is being sold until November 25. Then a new designer will be shown.

You will also find a growing collection of "Flux-works". To buy or participate in. Paintings, sculptures, dinners, lectures and unexpected services. Anything is possible. Fluxus is an art-ism based on humor and simplicity. Fluxus is not a movement or a style. It is an attitude. The shop has only been open a week, but already the leading auction house Bukowskis will will be auctioning an artwork from Flux Shop on the 17th of november.

Trendy souvernirs

I really like Dala horses, but there are plenty of trendy souvernirs to buy when you are in Stockholm. Trendy clogs, black and white fabrics and tray are just some of the ideas.

One of the swedish fashion brands, Hope-Sthlm, have done a "map-print" for NK which is found in their Room:117 area in the glass department on the lower ground floor. The print is the map of central Stockholm around 200 years ago. (photo: ibeyostudio)

Swedish hasbeens produces and sells trendy clog-shoes. How about these "Grease Sky highs" as a souvernir from Sweden. Swedish hasbeens is a Stockholm based company.

One of my favorite give away souvernirs is the "Plattan" tray featuring the graphic pattern of the Sergel Torg square, which by stockholmers is called "plattan" (which is swedish for record as well as "the flat surface"). The tray is designed by Barbro Tryberg and can be boutght at Designtorget.
