Carl Eldh Studio Museum enters cyberspace

One of our ?unknown pearls? is the Carl Eldh Studio Museum. Due to the construction of Norra länken (car tunnel) the museum is closed during 2007. But don?t despair: In the meantime you can enjoy their new website.

Carl Eldh (1873-1954) was one of Sweden's most prominent sculptors during the first half of the 20th century. The studio in which he worked and lived for more than three decades is now preserved as a museum. This unusual wooden building was designed in 1919 by the architect Ragnar Östberg, who also designed the Stockholm City Hall and other buildings of note, and it contains several hundred sculptures by Carl Eldh.

Medieval museum moves temporarily

The Museum of Medieval Stockholm will temporarily be housed in Kulturhuset, at Sergels torg right in the middle of Stockholm, where a small display and shop will be opening on 14 August. The move is necessary because of the renovation of Norrbro (the North Bridge). While this is taking place we will be rebuilding our permanent displays. The new Museum of Medieval Stockholm is expected to open in the late autumn of 2009 or the spring of 2010.
