Read on DN that the cosy restaurant Hälsingborg on Birger Jarlsgatan is moving to new premisses in the city in mid January. The reason for moving is that "Little Hälsingborg has grown out of its premisses" .  The new location is Mäster Samuelsgatan 60, former Locanda. According to Elin at DN a new italian restaurant Esperanza has moved to Birger jarlsgatan 112.

New year - two new restaurants

image136

A new restaurant will open January 23rd in Gamla Stan, and I have mentioned it before. The restaurant, named Frantzén-Lindeberg will open on Lilla Nygatan 2, former Mistral Restaurant. The restaurant will be runned by Björn Frantzén and Daniel Lindeberg who both have been working at Edsbacka Krog. If you understand swedish you can read all about it on their blog.

Soon a new restaurant will open on Biblioteksgatan on Östermalm. I walk passed Zink Grill every day on my way to work and as the name says its going to be a grill restaurant and coctailbar. No opening date yet, but I will keep you posted.

Prinsen, Mäster Samuelsgatan 4, Norrmalm.
Operakällarens bakficka, Karl XII Torg (entrance Jakobs Torg), Norrmalm.

PA & Co, Riddargatan 8, Östermalm.
Operabaren, Opera house, Karl XII:s torg, Norrmalm.
Gyllene Freden, Österlånggatan 51, Gamla Stan (Old Town)
Teatergrillen, Nybrogatan 3, Östermalm.
Konstnärsbaren (KB), Smålandsgatan 7, Norrmalm.
Tennstopet, Dalagatan 50, Vasastan.
Pelikan, Blekingegatan 40, Södermalm

New swedish restaurant opening in October

Niklas Ekstedt, one of our top chefs, a popular tv-personality and with two restaurants in southern Sweden will open a restaurant in Stockholm in October, according to DN.  The new restaurant will be named 1900 and serve swedish traditional food - turnofthecentury meets modern. Great view from Södermalms own skybar

According to DN, Imperiet is the name of the new Sky-bar, situated in (studentskrapan) just accross the street from Skånegatan and SoFo on Götgatan. I believe that this bar will be a great success; the location on Södermalm, the location in one of the citys landmarks and the owners. The new bar will be operated by Ahlbom who successfully runs Storstad, Olssons Video and Solidaritet. The 25 floor sky scraper, former home of the Tax-authority in Stockholm, has turned into the coolest student dorm in Stockholm. 600 students are moving into the house which will also include lifestyle stores and the new cool Skybar on top opening in November.

Crayfish party on Djurgården

August is the month for crayfish in Sweden. We dress up in silly paper hats and bibs and eat cray fish ? the Swedish way I might add. With cheese toast on the side and crayfish boild with lots and lots of dill. Villa Godthem, by the waterfront at Djurgården arranges a crayfish-menu with chanterelle toast for starters and crayfish, bread and cheese for main menu and bluberry pie for dessert.

Konserthuset opens restaurant

One of Stockholms landmarks, the blue Concert Hall at Hötorget is so popular that it has grown out of its costume. During the years to come a transparent wing will be attached (towards the hötorget skyscrapers and on the parkinglot) to the building, including a restaurant for 120 people, a ticket centre, an exhibitionhall for video art. The new wing is planned to open in 2010.

Pontus! is opened

One of our best chefs, Pontus Fritiof has opened his new restaurant, namely Pontus! at Brunnsgatan ? a  800 square meter food palace at Stureplan. With three different concepts Pontus hopes to bring all types of people to the restaurant, blue collars as well as white collars. The restaurant serves nice a la carte with ecological touch, the oysterbar serves mainly oysters and the bar serves all types of drinks. The place has already got great reviews.
