The swedish webshop Designista have a real life store in Stockholm on Hagagatan 20 in the Vasastan area in the city. The store has now moved together with the clothing company Jascha to the shop Jascha Loves Designista on Upplandsgatan 45 in the Vasastan area.

The Vasastan area are known for its restaurants, bars, antiqueshops and independent stores. Vasastan area has a town-feel, just like the SoFo-area on Södermalm, but is a bit more stylish.

Svenskt tenn launches two new Frank textiles


Ceylon and Aramal (image) are two new floral cretonnes available through Svenskt Tenn. The cretonnes have never been produced before, but were designed by Josef Frank in the 40's-50's. 

Fabric compose one of Svenskt Tenn’s most well known departments, in particular Josef Frank’s rich, floral cretonnes. He was enormously productive, designing some 160 patterns. 

Les Chambres - an exclusive lifestyle store

Stockholm has several nice lifestyle stores, but just recently the posh area of Östermalm got its first. I haven't seen it for myself yet, but trust my colleague Marcus who went passed it during a site visit today. Looks great!

At Les Chambres Stockholm you can
- shop clothes from several top quality brands,
- get your hair done at the hairdresser, 
- relax with a cup of coffee in the café and
- buy the flowers in the flowershop.


H&M Home opens showroom

H&M Home opens a show room in Stockholm today. The address is Drottninggatan 58.

Exclusive vintage for men

The lifestyle vintage store Grandpa Kungsholmen opens a vintage shop in their shop named A.MARCHESAN. The swedish vintage expert Alexander Marchesan collects vintage for men from 1920-1960 and he will open a shop in the shop with exclusive high quality male vintage from Borrelli, Turnbull & Asser and Allen Edmonds. Everything for the well dressed gentleman will be for sale in Grandpa Kungsholmen Store.

October 1 the french style café "Café Coleur" opens a café at Grandpa Kungsholmen

Livstycket immigrants at Nordiska


Livstycket
is a modern design and knowledge centre for immigrant women living in the Stockholm suburb Tensta. Their fabrics have turned from being work of immigrants to popular musthave fabrics in swedish homes. An exhibition on Nordiska Museet named "livstycket" (liv means life, waist and livstycke means corset). Every year they organize a christmasmarket (this year 28/11) and starting september 16 they will exhibit at Nordiska Museet


New design shop for trendy

is the name of a new design shop on Eastmansvägen 15 next to Vasaparken-park in Vasastan area. The shop focuses on interior design for trendy people interested in quality rather than quantity.



Svenssons i Lammhult opens in Stockholm

The furniture store Svenssons i Lammhult have specialized in selling furniture from Scandinavian producers such as Swedese, Kasthall, DesignHouse Sthlm, Artek, Louis Poulsen etcetera. The company have their head office in the small village of Lammhult close to IKEA in the county of Småland. They are now opening a store in Sickla Köpkvarter, in Nacka Stockholm this autumn


Stockholm have the worlds best design stores

Stockholm have the best design stores in the world. Two Swedish design stores, based in Stockholm, are found on Elle Decorations "Best design stores in the world" (october 2008).

Modernity (nr 6) with top of the line vintage scandinavian design and Svenskt Tenn (nr 12) with wonderful fabrics and furniture by Josef Frank. No other Nordic or scandinavian design companies were mentioned in the article. New York, Paris and Stockholm were the only cities who had more than one design store on the top 14 list.

Svenskt Tenn (14) is also found on Monocles top 20 retailers. The only Nordic shop mentioned.

New vintage design shop.

Herr Judit, Hornsgatan 65 on Södermalm, is considered the best secondhand store for men. herr judit now opens a second secondhand store  on Södermalm. the former Firestation (Brandstation) on Krukmakargatan 22 sells furniture and accessories, not clothes. .


New old Malmsten shop for design


One of Swedens furniture pioneers is Carl Malmsten. They have refurbished the place to take the design into a new era. You will find them at the same address as for the last 69 years; Strandvägen 5B, Stockholm, but the experience will be new. You will be refreshed by the genuine quality of Carl Malmstens furniture accompanied by the best of Swedish handicrafts of today. For the opening occasion we have cooperated with designer Martin Bergström (print above) and creator Pontus Djanaieff to dress up some of Carl Malmstens classics. Welcome in to take part of a new era. Images from Noll Images will also be at display.

Passion for design?

Do you have passion for design? then you should visit DesignPassion at Grev Turegatan 3 in Stockholm between April 25 and June 7. Some of the best swedish and international architects and designers will show their creative solutions for private homes and public venues in this gigantic marketplace for consumers and producers. After the exhibition period everything will be sold on an auktion for Childhood Foundation.

Offecct opens store in Stockholm

The Swedish furniture design firm OFFECCT opens a flagship store and showroom in Stockholm. OFFECCT is expanding at the moment and the new store will be a new way to show the furniture collection for consumers and will be a meeting place for Swedish and international designers. Sustainable thinking, quality and design are equal components for the OFFECCT brand.

Sophisticated fashion at PUB dept store

Stockholms oldest departmentstore, PUB, is undergoing a change into a trendy lifestyle store. PUB 03, also named the studio, opened in december last year with trendy trendy clothes from designers all over the world, some vintage and an art gallery. During this weekend the next floor, PUB 02 also named the Salon,  will be inaugurated filled with sophisticated fashion for men and women.

Swedish design online

How about some swedish contemporary or vintage design on the table, for dinner on the kids or on you or your friends? A new website - Swedish details - sells swedish products online. The webpage is all yellow, and its quite difficult to read the blue text, but if you look closer you can actually find some nice products, such as the crown necklace from Skultuna.

are now also into fashion, slow fashion. This autumn they will sell a collection of eight soft clothes named "numb" by Swedish designer Anna Bonnevier. From the triangle form she has made classic black everyday wear made to last for more than one season in prices ranging from SEK 900-2500.
