A pearl in the maritime Stockholm
You know the feeling of a pleasant surprize? Last week I visited SS Orion a ship in the maritime environment on the Skeppsholmen island. I wasn't really expecting anything. But the ship and the people behind made a real impact. The ship has been restored to its former glory with mahogany - even on the toilet.
Though its an old steam ship the owners have modernised it so its now environmental friendly. "We replaced the ship’s oil-fired boiler with an environmental friendly heat pump. Our energy source to the heat pump is the water in Stockholms Ström (Actual water in the harbour) through a heat exchanger located below the water. The system is complemented with effective solar collectors on the top deck", says Bo Thorstenson the owner of the ship.
They are now hoping to host smaller executive meetings etcetera on the boat.
The Fair expands
The extension offers other advantages as well. Larger floor space and new restaurant areas combined with adaptable, flexible solutions will mean more customers and new possibilities. The additional space will allow greater flexibility at popular fairs such as the Stockholm Furniture Fair in february.
The walkway will have a polished surface and lots of green details, efforts are also put in to the entrance and the restaurant area.

Stockholms new fair in ICT-centre
The autumn of 2008 sees the opening of Kista Expo Center and, with that, the creation of a completely new meeting place at the heart of Kista Science City. The area is already one of the country's foremost in the field of leading technology, ICT, attracting people and companies from all over the world. The direct connection with the E4 motorway, commuter trains and underground means that the Kista Expo Center is accessible regardless of transport type, and its proximity to the Arlanda and Bromma airports creates favourable conditions for international contacts too.
